Photo Shoots In Haiti!!

When you go to Haiti to visit your child(ren) you usually try to travel in a group.. So I traveled alongside other adoptive parents .. roomed with them and their children. Kasey and I have been trying to think of some good ways to raise money for our adoption process.. One idea was to do some photo shoots in Haiti for the families who are adopting. The sun in Haiti is three times as brighter I swear it! It was rather hard to work around the lighting there, and not a lot of shade to work with either. Between finding what child to photograph.. making sure they had on some good clothes that I thought their parents would like, the heat, the specific places we had to work with.. I am in LOVE with all of the photo shoots I did. I think every single one was different and unique!!! The children were so fun to work alongside and I am HOPING with all my heart that their parents enjoy these photos as much as I did when I took them!

Meeting Kemsley!

We went to Haiti Jan 27-31st
We did work projects (still editing those photos)
We also got to hang out with our son!
He is one of a kind! So wonderful in so many ways!
He was specially made for our family and we cant wait to take him home!!
It hurt to leave him, but we know it will all work out in perfect timing.
I wanted to get every inch of his face, his smiles, his scars, his hands,his eyes, his feet. I took a ton of photos of him!
Now.. To learn some french :)

Just a little blog to say MERRY CHRISTMAS and we hope all your holidays are going great!!
We have been pretty busy with family, work and photography.
Making our new website has proven to be harder than I thought. The domain name has been putting it on "hold" for about three months which is why our website is down. It will be up hopefully before Christmas!!

Other news .. We are celebrating our FIRST CHRISTMAS IN OUR FIRST HOUSE!

We bought our tickets and will be heading to HAITI together (along side a good group of friends) January 27th !
We will be staying again at the orphanage that Jessie was at in October. Helping by painting rooms, and doing any and all the things we can to help out.
Our desire is to go back to Haiti often and do this, as well as adopt!!
Adoption is something we have wanted to do before we even got married almost 8 years ago. Raising money is the hard part. We are trying not to lose hope and remember that all things work together in Gods timing, not always our own.

Our three boys are doing well, and growing up too fast!
Its my first year of home schooling and its going pretty well. Many challenges of course, like most anything.
Zion is in kindergarten and finds it fun to do school, fractions being his favorite and learning about the Solar System.

Elias loves building with his hands. LEGOS are very popular in our house!

Jabyn, the youngest, is growing up so fast.. He is a climber! Climbs just about anything he can! He's a hard one to keep your eyes on as he is running almost every minute of the day.

We are hoping to get some more weddings booked soon! So pleas feel free to pass our name along to friends and families !!

Another beautiful day for an outside wedding! The bride and groom did a great job putting their own special touch into it. The groom even crafted their wedding bands. So beautiful!!

This was a perfect day for a wedding!
The Bride and Groom were so calm and down to earth and it was a pleasure working with them. They picked a wonderful place to have their wedding and to celebrate. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed taking them.
I have so many "favorite photos" I may have added too many!

Kasey and I were blessed to be able to photograph such a fun couple and wedding.
The bride was so calm and went with the flow through out the whole wedding and I was really impressed!
The weather was wonderful for outdoor pictures and I even got to use a few inspired ideas with them.
I hope you all enjoy the photos!
There were far too many of the ones I loved .. So I may go photo crazy..
Also I may not have them in the best of order, we can thank my computer for that.

Maternity Photo Shoot

This shoot has a fun story behind it.

Adrienne and I have been trying to set up a time for her to get her maternity photos taken with her other three children for a few months now. Between her schedule and my own it was beginning to look like it was not going to happen.

She is due in about 4 or 5 weeks, and the other day while my three boys were napping and Kasey, who had the day off was on a bike ride, I was sitting outside in the sun practicing my guitar and I got a text message from her saying she wanted to do them soon, and her time was running out. I said alright let's do them at three today. That gave her about an hour to get everything ready, her three children, herself and to find some cool outfits, as well as prop ideas..

She agreed!! I knew that it would be a great shoot because of her positive attitude, her willingness to just "wing it" and the sun was shining!

I only had an hour and a half to take her pictures, I had a class right down the street from where she lived so I knew it would be cutting it close, but it worked out great!

We started inside her house, and then worked our way to her backyard with the children following. We had about 30 minutes left before I had to pack up and leave so we decided we would go to the park really fast. During our time there a man came over to us and asked if we would like to have his pet duck in the photograph and of course we said.. Sure, why not?! (so this is where the duck comes in) Also, while rummaging through her clothes I found a BRIGHT color, and said YOU HAVE A WIG! Bring it!

She was great to photograph, so fun, so ready and willing to try anything I told her. Sit up, Stand, kneel, sit, stand, crouch, go in the thorns.. She took a lot for a pregnant girl, she was a great sport, and so were her three awesome children.
I had a wonderful time with them!!

Maternity Photo Shoot

I had the pleasure last week of photographing a very beautiful and sweet friend of mine who is expecting her third child.
She has two little girls who are adorable! This will be her first little boy.
I am so excited for her and her family!

This photo shoot was a bit more of a challenge than the regular "staged back round" that I usually do, but I wanted it to be. I wanted to get out of my element and figure out just how I would walk into her house never seeing it before, and attempt to just do natural light, and natural back rounds.

Also, I added one of her little girls who was just too adorable!
I brought some of my hats that I love, and her little girl loved them too.
Her husband is in the army, so I thought it would be cute to have her in his jacket as well :)

Passionately Pink !!

We have been a bit busy with the normal things in life.. Family, work, school, children.. I would like to start blogging on here more often and writing about each photo session I do instead of just posting the pictures.
So, from here on out, I(Jessie) will attempt just that.

Back in January, I was asked to photograph and be apart of a very special event called "PASSIONATELY PINK FOR THE CURE" raising awareness for breast cancer.
It was held at STUDIO 59 in Westbrook, Maine. (I, Jessie, was taking Zumba classes there this past winter, and had to stop for a bit, due to lack of time :( but if anyone's looking for a great yoga, pilates, or Zumba class, I would highly suggest trying them out!! Stacy and Caroline have become wonderful friends!
